Original artwork by Candian artist Kacie Avery.
Title: Cut The Cord 24in x 18in x 1in
Materials: Acrylic and spray paint on a handmade canvas.
Becoming the person you aspire to requires sacrifice.
The past can easily become haunting and outgrowing people, places, and mindsets that no longer serve you, takes consciousness, and if we are real, at times gut-wrecking work. Growth can be extremely beautiful but also uncomfortable, when it's painful, cords to the past must be cut to move forward.
The skull symbolizes the death of an old self. The pain of growth is shown within the symbolizing of the knife, while the cut is needed at times it can feel as though you are being filleted. Sometimes doing the right thing is freeing, something doing the right thing hurts. The idea that anything is possible in this world is exciting and comforting, but it's also terrifying.
However, life exists on the other side of fear.
Cut The Cord, is a heartfelt goodbye, a fuck you, a hug to my younger self, this painting quite literally is a release letter with 2 of the layers having handwritten release letters hidden within the background. This painting is a reminder that the past and the future both don't exist but the present does, asking 2 questions... Who are you going to decide to be today? What do you need to release to get there?
Every painting holds a piece of artist Kacie Avery's heart, from anger to love, Kacie Kulture is an expression of his existence. In signature, Kacie Kultue style artist Kacie Avery hides this deep message within a playful and fun painting.
Whether your soul is connected to the meaning or just drawn to the art, you can trust this is the perfect purposely imperfect painting to add to your gallery!
