It’s so easy to get caught up in thinking about where you want to be and longing to be there without taking a minute to appreciate where you are.

As I find my way painting in a new setting and find my way to a life that I’m happy to wake up to, this painting was calling to be created.

Stressing about what’s the next step career wise, what’s the next step in growing, how do I pay all my bills while still being able to experience pleasure and enjoy life in the process was a storm raging in my head.

In short how do I flow with “adulting” without drowning my inner child that brings me so much joy, the inner child that guides my heart and ignites my soul.

Life has been far from simple and most of our lives we will always be about working towards something. That in itself can be overwhelming especially in a society that is focused on results and productivity. But the reality is life isn’t easy but it definitely isn’t bad, in countless ways it's beautiful and so is the journey to finding ourselves and creating a life that fulfills our souls.

This painting is inspired by the concept of flowing within the controlled chaos thats apart of every journey, balanced with staying grateful and present to all the good along the way. All the little things that end up being big things, all the lessons, all the growth, all the times and moments that make you feel alive while pursuing something that matters.

This painting is about learning to be grateful for the present well working towards the future. A simple yet colourful reminder that you can’t skip to the end of the movie because you’ll miss all the best parts. Good things take time and great adventures never have a short story. ✨
